HO CHI MINH, Vietnam – In a landmark achievement that underscores its commitment to its transformative workplace culture, Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has claimed the top position on the Best Workplaces In Vietnam™ 2025 list in the medium-sized company category. This milestone marks the first time the leading hospitality company has reached the top spot in the country, advancing from its No. 2 ranking last year.

Awarded by global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work®, this momentous win adds to Hilton’s growing collection of workplace accolades in South East Asia, following its recent distinction as the top-ranked hospitality company to work for in the Philippines.

This recognition comes at a crucial time when Vietnam’s hospitality sector is experiencing unprecedented growth and many are considering a career in hospitality. Hilton’s achievement highlights how its people-first approach continues to set the company apart in attracting and retaining top talent.

From Rural Village to Professional Kitchen: A Story of Transformation

At the heart of Hilton’s success are its team members, who have thrived under the company’s commitment to wellness, growth, inclusion and purpose. Among them is Tran Duc Minh, a 20-year-old Commis Chef at Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang, whose path from childhood hardship to culinary professional exemplifies the company’s commitment to creating life-changing career opportunities and opening the door to professional and economic growth.

After losing his father at age seven, Minh became the primary caretaker for his younger siblings while his mother worked long hours at a rubber plantation. His life underwent a pivotal change when he was first introduced to the hospitality industry through a partnership between Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang and STREETS International, a social enterprise that supports vulnerable youth in Vietnam, including orphans and trafficked individuals, by offering residential training programs in hospitality and tourism.

While undertaking his traineeship with STREETS, Minh attended life skills classes led by the hotel’s leadership team. After graduation, he started as a team member in the hotel’s culinary team in January this year. Guided by Chef De Partie Le Dinh Nguyen Anh, himself a former STREETS trainee, Minh’s strong work ethic stood out, and he successfully joined the hotel as a full-time Commis Chef within two months.

“Since joining Hilton, I have grown in so many ways,” said Minh. “The support and trust from my mentors and leaders at Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang have been instrumental in building my confidence, from managing my station independently to interacting with guests. The journey with STREETS and Hilton has helped transform my life and created better opportunities not just for myself, but also for my family.”

Since the hotel opened in 2023, Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang’s partnership with STREETS International has helped train more than 80 local young people, creating a sustainable pipeline of hospitality talent while changing individual lives. STREETS International is also a 2025 Hilton Global Foundation grantee; funding from the Hilton Global Foundation is allowing STREETS to support nearly 100 youths the opportunity to participate in transformative training programs over the next three years.

“Being recognized as Vietnam’s best workplace validates our belief that investing in our people creates extraordinary results,” said Alexandra Murray, area vice president and regional head, South East Asia, Hilton. “Minh’s story speaks to the dedication and passion that our team members bring to their roles every day. He is also a powerful example of how our culture and community partnerships create lasting impact by nurturing talent, opening doors and building brighter futures for team members across the communities we serve.”
